Wedding Quilt

This quilt was made by Roberta Wells as a wedding gift for the daughter of a dear friend who grew up with her children.
Quilt Pattern: Original Design by Roberta Wells. A variation of a split rail quilt pattern using only two colors
Fabric: The colors were picked based on the Bride's color scheme of the wedding--silver gray and royal blue for a winter wedding. The silver with white swirls fabric inner border was added for contrast and interest and it just pulled everything together. Great choice Roberta!
Quilting: Quilted by Sandy Richard of Village Stitchery. It is a custom design using rulers for the body of the quilt and the inner border, and a stencil for the outer border. Roberta and Sandy worked together to choose the design. The diamonds where chosen to represent the engagement ring. The spiraling swirl was thought to look like hearts representing love. The circles in the inner border for the wedding band and the heart shaped leaves and vines were again love and nature.
