​Stories of quilts and the makers behind them — where intention, effort, and love come together in pieces that speak long after they’re finished.  The maker is the heart, the quilt is the soul, and the receiver is the body that carries the gift.  ​This gallery honors all three.

Every quilt begins with a maker — someone who chooses fabrics with care, stitches through joy or sorrow, and pours time, effort, and love into creating something meant to speak long after the last thread is trimmed.
The maker is the heart.  From that heart comes a quilt — a piece of work that carries the maker’s story, their courage, their creativity, and their hope.

A quilt becomes a soul not only because of its beauty, but because of everything that goes into it: the hours of work, the decisions about color and design, the patience, the learning, and the constant presence of the receiver in the maker’s thoughts.  The quilt is the soul.

 

And then there is the receiver — the person who holds the quilt, wraps themselves in it, weeps over it, treasures it, or passes it down.  The one who feels the weight of the love that went into it.  The one who carries the gift forward.  The receiver is the body that carries the gift.

How These Galleries Work Together​

The Quilt Legacy Gallery and the Pantograph Gallery are two parts of the same story.  One shows the quilts and the makers behind them.  The other shows the quilting designs that bring those quilts to life.

Many quilts in the Legacy Gallery link directly to the pantograph used, so you can see how each design looks on real quilts.  Browse one, browse both — each offers its own way of seeing the heart, soul, and gift of quilting.
